Until October 2014 I worked in IT. I was made redundant and was lucky enough to be able to take early retirement. In the months leading up to my retirement I’d learned to crochet and started a quilting class. Now, I wonder how I ever found the time to work! I also knit occasionally, although my elbow complains if I do too much knitting, so it’s mostly crochet. Having completed my first (very small) quilt, I’ve plucked up the courage to start sewing at home. I’ve made a couple of bags and find that I really enjoy making them so hope to do more and maybe build up to more challenging projects.

I’m married to David, who’s a district nurse, and I have 2 sons. Jamie is 20 and spends most of his time playing Dragon Age, drawing and writing. Ewan is 15 and spends most of his energy being a bored, grumpy teenager; he takes being a teenager very seriously. He spends most of his time in his room and I don’t think I want to know what he’s doing in there!
